Posted by Aron on June 22 2006 (Thursday) : 12:37 AMExactly four years ago I started this blog. My main intention was to write about my own experiences in the Israeli army and how they effected my view of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Over the past four years the political landscape in the region has changed dramatically. And yet, in many important ways, nothing has changed. For that reason I am posting less frequently these days. After a while, I just feel like I am repeating myself. The recent killings of Palestinian civilians on the Gaza beach is a case in point. Despite extensive evidence to the contrary the Israeli army has exonerated itself from any culpability in this most recent war crime. But we have been through this all before. As the French say, "Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose." Well actually something has changed. Dan Halutz, war criminal, is now the chief of staff of the Israeli army. < | >

"It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it." -Eleanor Roosevelt "Let them call me a rebel and welcome. I feel no concern from it. But should I suffer the misery of devils, were I to make a whore of my soul" -Thomas Paine | |
